View Full Version : Let Bunkspeed save whatever it has when it crashes

So,

Many times when I leave home from work, I set Move to render for 16 hours to however many passes it can get. Often enough, I come in in the morning to find that the background renderer has crashed and I've lost any progress on the render that was made. I would love for the renderer to save the image however many passes it was able to get when it crashes, that way, if my image only received 6743 passes out of the 7000 possible, I could still use it for my work.

Thanks!
Artem.

One idea would also be to allow the user to choose "save image every X passes"

So I might choose something like 250, and it would save a new image every multiple of 250. Or if it's a faster render, I'd change that to something more like 500 or 1000. So if it crashes on 6743 and you set it on every 500 passes, you'd lose a few passes, but you'd still have 6500.

I'd worry about it trying to pick up the very last frame. If it crashed on that one, the frame might be corrupt, depending on the crash. I'd hate to get the far, then have it only save a partial frame.
