    Red face TUTO #01 // Funny Eiffel Tower renderings

    Hello everybody,

    As life is sometimes boring... Imagine a model of Eiffel Tower would have stayed too long in the garden!

    I offer a quick tutorial to show you how to make nice graphics renderings of a kind architectural stage. Do not look for specific project or client demand behind it, I did it in 1h30 (including render time!) to test the IVYgenerator software in our workflow, from 3D to final renders! I had a 3D Eiffel Tower at hand... So this is 100% just for fun!

    The gait here is to get graphism effect result, imperfect of course, but which may prove interesting.
    You will see that this is not complicated with ProŽ!

    Step 1: 3D CAD software settings

    This step is just to show you the settings you must to have before importing the model in Bunkpseed. I'm working with Rhino 5.0.
    Here you can see the Eiffel Tower plus the 3D Ivy created with IVY generator. He grew up in 3 sources: Ground Floor, 1st floor and 2nd Flour.

    Here you can see that each element (the tower, branchs, leaf 1 & leaf 2) are on Rhino'materials with different names. It's very important.
    Usually I work on layers, but be aware that the material is a priority in Pro's Automatic import mode. So they must have imperatively different names.

    When you have this, you can save ad close. It's a basic scene, so quick to set all up.

    Step 2: Importing the 3D into Pro:

    When Im' importing, Im' using the Automatic mode, without cameras, and with materials (to follow the textures UVs, like in this case).
    Since 2014 version, when you're a Rhino user, you have to select X and Y axis like showed in picture attached.

    A message appear, because IVYgen uses textures by defaults, with UVs for each leaf, which is very helpfull. Pro don't found it and ask if you want to locate it. Hit "yes"

    And Bunkspeed will follow the same thing automatically for the other textures, when you found the folder! It's very helpfull, again

    Step 3: Adjusting the materials

    Since we have the color image, we will put the correct Alpha map for each leaf kind. We will found it at the same place of the other color map, into the IVYgen folder. We will adjust the color and the transparency too and stay in UV mapping mode.

    For the Eiffel Tower material, I've take the "Rusty Steel" (which one off of the few materials that has not been done by me aha! ) and modified the color

    Step 4: Changing the scene

    I've import a new HDRi with a garden, to have a better light and green reflection. I've change some settings, like the brightness.
    I first stayed in preview mode to see the good Rusty Steel mapping (Rusty distribution)

    Back to the Model settings, I've forgot to snap it too ground with the button dedicate for! It's better now

    I've decided tho have 3 cameras locked + a free camera

    The focal length is 50 and as you can see I've put a Depth of Field. In Post Processing option, I've done some settings, as you can see.

    Step 6: Rendering

    I've put this settings, as you an see: 1h for 3x HD pictures. So 20min for each. It's enough for this, but normally, to have better quality, I think twice as time is better. Here it's a little bit grainy but it's ok following the idea to have a graphic/camera effect.
