Q: I can't see my background in Photoshop when I open an image with an alpha?

A: The result is that when you open an image with an alpha channel, the background is transparent and there is no obvious way to get your background back.

    Here is how:
    1. Load your image in Photoshop

    2. Select your layer

    3. With the layer selected, go to the "Layer" file menu

    4. Select "Layer Mask > From Transparency"

    5. This creates a layer mask

    6. Select the layer mask and you can either right click and Disable it

    7. You should now be able to see your background and also select the alpha channel under the Channels.
