Thread: Decal problem

    Decal problem

    Some Decals rendering with big artefacts others don`t.Deleting and pin again, can help or causes in different artefacts.
    Any ideas?

    The problem looks like the decal and geometry are coplanar which causes the artifacting. The decals should be raised above the geometry ever so slightly. Might be an issue with scaling and units.

    Hi blitz, detached the decals and raised them a little above.Worked!!! Thanks a lot for your help!

    Also, i would recommend not using decals for what you are doing in those images but rather a color map assigned to a material. You can control the mapping easily with a planar map in your case for each newspaper. This will render more efficiently than decals in this specific case.

    No Problem. Decals are traditionally used for something that would be a "sticker" ontop of another material in real life.
